Only when
you begin to look closely at the world of cinema do you begin to realise
how ice is featured regularly and with some unusual connections. The
very idea of ice conjurs up adjectives such as cold, freezing,
sparkling, shining, dangerous, etc so it's not surprising to find movie
makers creating an interesting 'angle' using ice.
One notable example is the James Bond movie "Die Another Day"
which brings ice into focus in not just one but two interesting
ways;
the ice palace built by the villain of the piece (actually created
on a 200ft long sound stage at Pinewood Studios using acryllics and
plastics)
the car
chase on ice sequence featuring an Aston Martin and a Jaguar, filmed
on a frozen lake in Iceland
