Ice
climbing is a popular activity amongst mountaineers and rock climbers.
Did you know there's even an Ice Climbing World Cup?! There are many countries with ideal locations and climates for ice climbing including
Canada and North America, the European Nordic countries and also the
Far East. Beijing in China is one of the less well known ice climbing
locations but is gaining in popularity; indeed in 2004 China hosted
the Ice Climbing World Cup. Read

In addition
to competitions there are also numerous ice climbing Festivals - eg.
Valdez Festival in Alaska and the International Ice Climbing Festival
in Kandersteg, Switzerland. Some
ice climbing can even been done indoors, such as at the Ice Factor
in Lochaber Scotland.
